What is Original Amnesia?
Amnesia is one of the best-known Haze strains in Europe. It became a staple of Dutch coffeeshops in the late 1990s and 2000s, valued as a Haze that finishes faster and grows more manageable than the old landrace Hazes. Most sources describe it as Haze-forward with Afghan and Skunk support in the background.
Original Amnesia in autoflowering form crosses that Amnesia line with ruderalis-based auto genetics, so the plant flowers on its own without a change in light schedule. The auto parent varies by breeder, which is why we list the lineage at the family level.
The name sells in Southern and Central Europe, where Amnesia is still one of the most requested Haze names on seed-shop shelves. An auto version lets customers grow it outdoors in a single summer or in short indoor runs.
Aroma and terpene profile
Our lot shows earthy haze with a bright lemon lift and an exotic, incense-like spice at the back. That is the classic Amnesia profile. Haze lines of this type usually test terpinolene- or limonene-led, with myrcene in support, which fits the mix of citrus top notes and the woody, spicy base.
When you list Original Amnesia in your own shop, lead with "Haze" and "lemon", the two words most buyers connect with Amnesia. Customers who grew the photoperiod version years ago often look for an auto they can run outdoors in one season, so it helps to state the seed-to-harvest range clearly and to note that it is a little longer than for compact indica autos.
Plant traits
- Type: sativa-leaning hybrid, autoflowering
- Lineage: Amnesia (Haze-based) × autoflowering genetics
- Seed to harvest: about 11–12 weeks; it matures more gradually than most autos
- Structure: taller than most autos, with long, sativa-style colas
- Flowers: elongated, resinous buds with a lemon-haze aroma
Growing notes for the autoflowering line. Autoflowering plants switch to bloom on their own after a few weeks of growth, whatever the light schedule. Indoors, most growers run 18 or 20 hours of light from seed to harvest. Because the vegetative phase is short, autos are usually sown straight into their final pot and trained only lightly, since heavy topping or transplant stress leaves little time to recover. Outdoors in Southern Europe, several runs per season are possible from spring to early autumn. For a shop, this is the easiest format to recommend to first-time and balcony growers.
Figures are breeder and grower references, not guarantees. Results depend on the environment and handling.
